KELSEY ELGAS
ASSISTANT MANAGING AGENT


Kelsey joined the Rowell team in October of 2013 as an Assistant Managing Agent. With a B.A. degree in Psychology from Illinois
Wesleyan University, she previously worked as a social worker in a long term care facility for mentally ill adults as well as a not-for-profit organization that strived to support mentally ill adults successfully transition from nursing homes back into communities. 
 
Kelsey lives in Arlington Heights and enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog Beau. She is also a big movie buff, loves photography, and is always up for a do-it-yourself project.

 
ALYSSA GURKE
ASSISTANT MANAGING AGENT



Alyssa began as an employee of Rowell in September 2013. Previously to coming aboard, she had eight years of experience in
the property management field and nearly three years in the new home construction field.

Alyssa was recognized on the President’s List while attending McHenry County College and on the Dean’s List at Columbia College of
Missouri in Crystal Lake, where she graduated with a Bachelors in Arts degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in Management. She was a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society.

Alyssa is the assistant managing agent on twelve properties. She strives for speedy, accurate and friendly customer
service with a passion and attitude of ‘do it right the first time’. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching
movies and shopping. She is excited for what the future holds!

CHRISTINE KOTT
DATA SPECIALIST

Christine joined Rowell in August of 2007, with an extensive background in administrative support and customer service. This experience serves her well in her role as Data Specialist/Asst. Managing Agent, where she is responsible for generation of the various letters that leave our office, as well as the many reports needed to support our Associations and team. She is also responsible for training and procedures for our client database system, and other systems that aid in providing top service to our clients.

Christine enjoys cooking and baking in her free time, started on a “fitness kick” this year with the help of Weight Watchers’ “LiveLifeActive” program, and is now training for her first 5K charity run in October 2012. 


CINDY MCKENZIE
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGER



Cindy joined the Rowell Accounts Payable Department in December of 2004. Prior to joining the Rowell team, she was employed as a paralegal and office manager for a healthcare law firm in Chicago. Before returning to paralegal school, Cindy spent several years staying home in order to raise her son. These days Cindy spends her free time enjoying her family and friends.


ALEN YOUSIF
CLOSING SPECIALIST AND ASSISTANT




Alen started with Rowell in 2005.  Before coming to Rowell, Alen worked at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and later worked at a bank where he was a Assistant Manager.  Alens background in banking was a perfect fit for his position at Rowell.  His current job description at Rowell is working in the accounts receivable department and he is also the closing specialist. Alen also has his real estate license.  His knowledge in that field comes in handy when assisting with closings and providing closing documents to buyers, sellers and real estate attorneys.
 
Alen and his wife have two very young and active boys! 

KARA CERMAK
PRESIDENT AND PORTFOLIO MANAGING AGENT




Kara Cermak is married and and has two teenage daughters.   She spends her time either managing Rowell, one of the properties within her portfolio, or spends time with her friends and family.   Her husband, Jeff, is a carpenter contractor who successfully specializes in home renovations and balcony/detail carpentry.  Her daughter, Abbey, is in the process of completing cosmetology school, and works at Salon Lorrene in Palatine.  Her daughter, Gillian, is a sophomore at Fremd in Palatine.  She is lucky enough to work with her business partner and friend, Deborah Warda, every day, and to be surrounded by the most amazing staff in the industry.  Kara has just one sister, and spends much time with Amy and her beautiful family.  Her mother has been involved with the management industry for over 35 years, trained Kara, and spends an immense amount of time with her daughters, son-in-laws and grand-children.  She believes that providing for others and taking the focus off oneself is the secret to continued success and happiness and along those lines, feels strongly about women's issues.  She is a founding member of Celebrating All That Is Feminine which held a fundraiser in February, donating the proceeds to three battered women's shelters.  Pictured above is Kara's immediate family, a picture of she and Deborah at the 2013 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, and a montage of fun pictures from C.A.T.I.F.'s 2013 Summer Picnic in downtown Palatine.
 

JORDAN YOUSIF
ASSISTANT MANAGING AGENT

 

Jordan Yousif joined the Rowell team in March of 2005. She worked part-time while going to college at Columbia of Missouri for her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. After graduation in May of 2009, Jordan was offered the position of Assistant Managing Agent which she happily accepted. Having worked for Rowell for 4 plus years part-time, Jordan was very familiar with the processes of Rowell, so the position suit her well. 

Jordan is the Executive Assistant.  She oversees all the assistants at Rowell and is working on getting her department even better!  She still assists on twelve of Rowell’s accounts, processes all incoming invoices for the accounting department, and works on streamlining her department, amongst other things. She is also in the process of obtaining her Manager license. 

Jordan and her husband live in Hampshire with their sons Cameron and Jaxon and dog Duke.  She loves spending time with her family and loves being a mom! 

 

KIMBERLY SUTHERLAND, CMCA, AMS 
PORTFOLIO MANAGING AGENT




Kimberly started with Rowell in 2008. Before coming to Rowell, Kimberly worked in the legal department at two major international corporations and oversaw an accounts receiveable department in consumer services.  Kimberly is also a founding member of Celebrating all that is Feminine, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women.  On the less hectic front, her daughter, Preslee, is 9 years old. When not assisting the communities she manages, she enjoys spending her time with her husband and her daughter.
